Last week, we reported that 2025 4-star linebacker Elijah Barnes would visit Texas A&M during the Aggies’ second junior day this month and directly from Barnes’ X profile, he made his way to College Station on Saturday morning.
After 2025 4-star LB Kelvion Riggins announced his commitment to the Aggies on Friday night, momentum has made its way to CSTAT this weekend, joining several high-priority prospects, including 4-star athlete Michael Terry III, and 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway.
Barnes is set to enter his final senior season at Skyline High School. During his 2023 junior campaign, Barnes recorded 65 tackles (57 solo tackles), three sacks, five interceptions, and 12 tackles for loss on the year. Like Kelvion Riggins, Barnes has a nose for the football, possessing the pursuit speed and understanding of blocking angles in the run game, with the instincts and athleticism to cover the middle of the field.
According to 247Sports Composite, Barnes is currently positioned as the 83rd-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 12th-ranked linebacker prospect and the 14th-ranked player in Texas.

After visiting Texas last weekend, it’s now Mike Elko’s turn to pitch his playing future in Aggieland, while new defensive coordinator Jay Bateman’s influence should also pay dividends.
