2025 3-star DL and Texas A&M commit will not visit Texas this weekend

One of Texas A&M’s top defensive line commits will not visit the Texas Longhorns this weekend

Texas A&M (3-1. 1-0 SEC) will face Arkansas (3-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon, as the Southwest Classic will resume inside AT&T Stadium for a final game in the venue after a decade-plus.

Four of Texas A&M’s 2025 commits will attend the game. It was revealed by 247Sports’ Hank South earlier this week that 4-star star defensive lineman Chace Sims, who was slated to visit and attend the Longhorns’ home game vs. Mississippi State, has reportedly canceled his visit to Austin.

After visiting College Station last weekend, Sims, who is one of the rising prospects in the 2025 cycle, is coming off his impressive 2023 junior season, where he racked up 86 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks on the year, and is already off to his solid start during his senior season at Randle HS in Richmond, Texas.

Since officially entering the SEC this summer, the recruiting battles with the Longhorns have ramped up, while Texas has held an advantage recently, mainly due to its recent success on the field.
