2024 wide receiver Braylon Burnside recaps Tennessee visit

Four-star wide receiver Braylon Burnside recaps his visit to Tennessee for the Orange & White Game.

Four-star wide receiver Braylon Burnside unofficially visited Tennessee on April 15 for the Orange & White Game.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound wide receiver is from Starkville High School in Starkville, Mississippi.

Burnside discussed visiting Tennessee and updated his recruitment with Vols Wire.

“It was definitely a great time being there for the weekend,” Burnside said. “I plan on coming back to Knoxville. Tennessee has a great program. There are so many fans that just come up and tell you to come to Tennessee.”

Burnside does not currently hold an offer from Tennessee, but is building a relationship with wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope.

“I think me and coach Pope are building a relationship,” he said. “He’s been talking to me for some time and it’s building more and more.”

Burnside is the No. 204 overall prospect and No. 37 wide receiver in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 8 player and No. 2 wide receiver in Mississippi, according to the On3 Sports industry rankings.

He earned first-team All-State honors last season. Burnside finished his junior season with 1,158 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Tennessee’s recent success with wide receivers has Burnside’s attention. The 2024 prospect believes his skillset would translate well into Josh Heupel’s offense.

“I’m not the fastest guy, but my body frame in Tennessee’s offense would fit,” Burnside said.

Burnside holds offers from multiple Power Five programs. He plans to make a commitment decision during his senior season.

“I’m winding it down along the months,” Burnside said. “Me and my mom have been talking, and I’m going to decide in the season where I want to take my talent to the next level.”
