2024 UNC basketball commit Ian Jackson dazzles at Ambetter Classic

Ian Jackson, one of two 5-star commits in the UNC men’s basketball team’s 2024 recruiting class, dropped a 40-piece at the Ambetter Classic.

What the UNC men’s basketball team lost in Caleb Love during the offseason, it gained in Elliot Cadeau.

This continues a trend of talented point guards to come through Carolina – Marcus Paige, Joel Berry, Cole Anthony and Ty Lawson, to name a few.

With the 2023-2024 campaign expected to be Cadeau’s only in baby blue, the Heels already have their next plan in place – Ian Jackson, the 5-star point guard from The Bronx who’s ranked 5th nationally in 247Sports’ Class of 2024 player rankings.

This offseason, Jackson’s shown Carolina fans everywhere why he’s going to be a problem in college.

At Miami (Fla.) Senior High School’s Ambetter Classic on Saturday, July 29, Jackson dropped 40 points for the New York Wiz Kids.

Jackson shows he’s every bit of a talented, well-rounded point guard. He can make no-look passes and jump to steal basketballs out of mid-air. He’s a slasher, showing the ability to blow past defenders and convert at the rim through contract. Jackson will give UNC something they’ve sorely lacked in recent years – perimeter shooting.

With Drake Powell and James Brown joining Jackson in the 2024 class, Carolina will have no shortage of talent.
