A new era began in 2023 for Green Bay Packers football, and it went about as well as anyone could have hoped. This was the first season without 4-time NFL MVP QB Aaron Rodgers under center since 2008. Green Bay gave new QB Jordan Love 3 seasons to learn, grow and mature behind Rodgers before giving him the reins at the start of last season. In his first full season as starter, Love threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and completed just over 64% of his passes. He led the Packers to a playoff berth and had nearly a perfect passer rating (157.2) in a road Wild Card victory over the Dallas Cowboys 48-32. Despite a heartbreaking 24-21 loss in the Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay can hold its head up high knowing it found another franchise quarterback.

Green Bay had room to spend in free agency as Rodgers’ deal finally came off their balance sheet, and they cut 2 aging veterans; LT David Bakhtari and RB Aaron Jones. It didn’t take long for GM Brian Gutekunst to make 2 big splashy signings of 26-year-old RB Josh Jacobs and 24-year-old S Xavier McKinney. The Packers basically traded in for a younger model at running back with Jacobs. McKinney was graded by Pro Football Focus as the NFL’s best safety in coverage (91.2 coverage grade) totaling 3 interceptions while not allowing any passing touchdowns in 2023.

The Packers are a team on the rise, but their biggest hurdle is playing in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions are a favorite to win the NFC, the Chicago Bears loaded up in the offseason and the Minnesota Vikings still have Justin Jefferson. Green Bay hopes for no sophomore slump from Jordan Love as he will not surprise anyone this season.

Below, we look at the Green Bay Packers 2024 NFL Super Bowl odds from FanDuel Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

Packers Over/Under win total

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook – last updated Saturday, May 25 at 8 a.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 9.5 wins: (Over: -134 | Under: +110)

According to Sharp Football Analysis, which based its calculations off projected win totals, the Packers have the 14th-toughest schedule in the NFL. Their implied line of 10.1 wins is one more than than projections by most sportsbooks.

After perusing the schedule for Green Bay, I feel good about it getting to 10 wins in 2024. I believe this all hinges on the Packers getting to at least 4-2 over their first 6 games. That’s because Weeks 7-14 will be a rough road. They have 2 games against the division-rival Lions, 4 games against 2023 playoff teams; Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins. Their “easiest” game over that stretch is on the road in Chicago. After that difficult run, the Packers will have to finish their last 4 games at least 3-1.

The Packers have gone over their projected win total in 4 of their 5 seasons under head coach Matt LaFleur since 2019. The one year they failed was Rodgers’ final season with the Packers in 2022.

Despite that, if the Over bet was getting plus odds, I’d be interested in taking it but not when it’s at -134. It’s not smart to pay that juice on a bet that doesn’t feel like a sure thing.

PASS.

Packers Super Bowl odds

  • +1900 (bet $100 to win $1,900)

The Packers have the 10th-best odds to win the Super Bowl, behind the 49ers (+550), Kansas City Chiefs (+600), Baltimore Ravens (+950), Cincinnati Bengals (+1300), Lions (+1300), Buffalo Bills (+1300), Philadelphia Eagles (+1400), Dallas Cowboys (+1500) and Texans (+1600).

This is a good, young team, built to be good for a long time, not just a one-year Super Bowl run. As much as I like this team and their potential, I don’t see them bringing home the franchise’s 5th Lombardi Trophy in 2024.

Green Bay took the best team in the NFC to the brink of elimination in 2023, losing on a field goal in the final minute of regulation. It has the talent to compete with anyone but still needs some maturing as a team.

I’ve got the Lions representing the NFC in the Super Bowl in 2024, so I’m going to PASS on making this wager.

Will Packers make the playoffs?

  • Yes -158 | No +128

When you look at the combination of their strength of schedule and the talent on the Packers, this team should certainly make the playoffs, but do I want to put down more than 1 1/2 units to win 1 back? I don’t. That’s not a knock against Green Bay, but this is no way a sure thing with such a young roster. It could take a step back this season.

I’d rather just PASS on this wager and save the money for another bet on the Packers or another future bet.

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Lions +145 (bet $100 to win $145)
  • Packers +185 (bet $100 to win $185)
  • Bears +320 (bet $100 to win $320)
  • Vikings +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

The Lions are the obvious and clear favorite to win the NFC North crown. Detroit was a field goal away from going to the Super Bowl in 2023, and it only got better this offseason.

As much as I like the Packers, Chicago will not be a pushover in this division. It brought in the No. 1 overall pick QB Caleb Williams and surrounded him with tons of talent like RB D’Andre Swift, WR Keenan Allen and the No. 9 overall pick in the NFL Draft, WR Rome Odunze.

Does anyone know what to make of the Vikings? They’ve still got the best offensive weapon in the NFL, WR Justin Jefferson, but who is going to get him the ball without QB Kirk Cousins? Can QB Sam Darnold or rookie QB J.J. McCarthy do the job? That’s what we all don’t know at this point.

Detroit is the class of this division, I don’t see the Packers getting the better of them. I’ll PASS on this one as well.

Packers odds to win NFC

  • +850 (bet $100 to win $850)

The Packers have the 5th best odds to win the NFC, behind the 49ers (+250), Lions (+600),  Cowboys (+650) and Eagles (+700).

Yes, there are a lot of talented teams ahead of the Packers in the NFC, but this young squad has the ability to shock fans as they almost did in 2023. I believe Love will put himself into the NFL MVP conversation in 2024, and if that happens, the Packers will be in prime position to make a run to Las Vegas in February.

For the lofty return, I recommend you sprinkling a bet on the PACKERS TO WIN THE NFC (+850).
