2024 4-star athlete has Penn State in top 7

Penn State makes top seven for four-star athlete in 2024

It’s been a remarkable recent run for Penn State when it comes to locking up recruits for the 2024 recruiting class. They secured a player from that class over the weekend, got a commitment from a running back in the 2025 class and just recently added another 2024 recruit on Tuesday.

That now puts Penn State at 10 total commitments for the class of 2024 and they have no plans of slowing down as of now. Their recent run of success has them ranked 6th in recruiting rankings by 247Sports and 10th in On3’s ranking list.

On Monday, another one of their targets in the class of 2024 cut his list down to seven schools. Penn State made the list of four-star athlete [autotag]Josiah Brown[/autotag], who plays both wide receiver and defensive back for Holy Trinity Diocesan in New York.

Brown is 5’11” 170 pound athlete who is dynamic with the ball in his hands on offense and in the return game on special teams.

Other schools that made his list are Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, and Rutgers.

Brown is ranked number 219 in his class by On3’s industry ranking and the number one prospect in the state of New York. Him being effective on both sides of the ball is the reason for him not picking a position he wants to play at the college level as of now. It may not be known what his position will be until he gets into a college program.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Rutgers as the favorites to land him, giving the Scarlet Knights a 50.7% chance. Penn State is second on the list with a 19.4% chance.

Brown told On3 back in January that he is focused on academics as his main decider saying, “The most important thing for me is academics. I was raised to put them first. After that, it comes down to football. I want to be developed to meet my full potential.”

That’s one of the reasons why Penn State was included in his top seven list. He told On3, “The academics at Penn State is a really big part of my interest in them. They showed me their academics when I was there in January and that was big.”

He has yet to attend a game in State College but has visited the campus, meeting with coaches to build relationships between them and his family.
