The first two weekends in June present enormous recruiting opportunities for Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher, as it has been reported that 2024 three-star cornerback Larry Tarver Jr., who is currently committed to FIU, will visit College Station on the weekend of June 9-11, joining several other 2024 prospects including four-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart.
Tarver committed to FIU in late March, but after the Aggies offered him on May 24, his collegiate future may be flexible. According to 247Sports, Tarver is positioned as the 94th-ranked cornerback in the class and the 168th-ranked prospect in Florida.
Standing at 5-11 and 165 pounds, Tarver’s weight is most likely one of the primary reasons for his lack of Power 5 offers; his play on the field paints a different picture, possessing the suddenness, deep speed, and mirroring ability in press coverage. He has also seen time at wide receiver and on special teams as a kick returner, adding another layer to his versatile profile.

Like many prospects at the cornerback and wide receiver position, Tarver participates in Track and Field, where he posted a 10.6 100-meter and 21.5 200-meter time last season. Texas A&M won’t be the only Power 5 program scouting Tarver next season, but as it stands, the Aggies may have the upper hand going into the summer.
