Analyzing the odds for the 2024 3M Open with PGA Tour picks and predictions for the top prop bets.

Following an exciting weekend at Royal Troon for the Open Championship, the PGA Tour is back stateside for the 2024 3M Open in Minnesota. This relatively new event is once again being hosted by TPC Twin Cities.

Below, we search for the best value prop bets from BetMGM Sportsbook among the 2024 3M Open odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions.

Tony Finau, the winner of this tournament in 2022, is the betting favorite with odds of +1000. Sam Burns (+1800) and Akshay Bhatia (+2000) are also in the field, as is Sahith Theegala (+2200). With the top players coming off a trip over to Scotland, many of them are taking the week off in preparation for the Olympics and FedExCup Playoffs.

TPC Twin Cities is 7,431 yards long and plays as a par 71. It features wide fairways, but there are water hazards on most holes, so players must avoid those penalty areas. It’s also a very flat course with little elevation change.

3M Open – Top-5 picks

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 5:40 p.m. ET.

Akshay Bhatia (+450)

Bhatia is long and accurate off the tee and has really come into his own as a top young player on tour. With 1 win already and another close call in Detroit, Bhatia could be poised for a 2nd victory in 2024.

J.T. Poston (+600)

Poston is one of the horses for this course, finishing 28th, 11th and 2nd in the last 3 years. He’s a terrific putter, which often keeps him in contention, and this week may be no different.

3M Open – Top-10 picks

Cam Davis (+333)

Davis only has 1 top-10 finish in 5 starts here, but he’s also finished 12th and 16th in 2 other appearances. If he can keep the ball in these wide fairways, he should be in business.

Sahith Theegala (+220)

Theegala had an early exit from the Open Championship so he got a bit of a head start on prep this week. Even though he’s never made the cut here, he’s a good fit for the course.

Emiliano Grillo (+400)

Grillo has finished 3rd, 2nd and 10th in the last 4 years here, with a missed cut in 2021. He’s found success at TPC Twin Cities and all he needs is another top 10, not a win, to cash this bet.

3M Open – Top-20 picks

Rico Hoey (+240)

Hoey is playing really well right now, notching 3 top-10s in his last 4 starts. This will be his tournament debut, but we’ll ride the hot hand and bet on a 4th top-20 in 5 starts.

Callum Tarren (+550)

A mega long shot this week, Tarren has surprisingly finished 13th and 7th in his 2 career starts in this event. If he can find that magic again, a +550 bet for a top-20 finish seems like a good value.

Jake Knapp (+250)

Knapp has cooled off since his hot start to the season, but with his length he should be able to find success at TPC Twin Cities.

3M Open – Matchups

Suggested play is golfer in bold.

J.T. Poston (-110) vs. Keith Mitchell (-110)

Mitchell didn’t make the cut in last week’s alternate-field event, the Barracuda Championship. Both players have had success here, but Poston is playing better at the moment.

Tom Hoge (-105) vs. Billy Horschel (-130)

It might seem unwise to fade Horschel after his 2nd-place finish at the Open, but fatigue could set in after such an emotional and grueling week in Scotland.

3M Open – Top South African

Erik van Rooyen (+150)

This is a discounted price after Thriston Lawrence (+188) had a stellar week at the Open. He’s another player who could experience some fatigue after nearly winning last week’s major.

3M Open – First-round leader

Rico Hoey (+6600)

This is a bet to ride the hot hand, as well as a guy who ranks 10th on tour in 1st-round scoring average.

Maverick McNealy (+6000)

McNealy is 23rd in Round 1 scoring this season and has finished top 50 in both appearances at this event, including a T-16 in 2021.
