We’re approaching three months since A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and the Las Vegas Aces captured the 2022 WNBA Championship. With the start of free agency nearly one month away, the excitement of the 2023 season is beginning to build.
To add to the hype, FanDuel Sportsbook recently released WNBA Championship futures for the upcoming 2023 season.
The defending champion Aces enter with the season’s shortest title odds (+185) and a legitimate chance to repeat. The Top 3 is rounded out by the runner-up Connecticut Sun (+370) and the always-dangerous Washington Mystics (+550), who are led by Elena Delle Donne.
Unsurprisingly, the Indiana Fever open up with a share of the longest title odds (+8000). They could see their immediate future become a bit more optimistic as they enter April’s 2023 WNBA Draft with the No. 1 overall pick—and a chance to select a franchise-changing player like South Carolina’s Aliyah Boston. The Los Angeles Sparks, under newly hired head coach Curt Miller, also have a league-worst +8000 odds to win the 2023 championship.
A lot can change between now and May when the season starts, but there’s a good chance the order of these odds will mirror what the season’s final outcome looks like.
Until then, enjoy some women’s college basketball, and get ready for what could be a wild WNBA free agency period beginning in January.
