The 24th edition of the USA Nike Hoop Summit will feature the top high school athletes in the United States facing off against the top 19-year-old and younger athletes playing for World Teams.
Why is this notable for the Colorado Buffaloes? Incoming five-star freshman Cody Williams is part of the USA team that includes a long list of talented prep basketball players, including Bronny James.
Here is the list, via the official release:
The 2023 USA Men’s Nike Hoop Summit Team features Omaha Biliew, Blake Buchanan, Isaiah Collier, Eric Dailey Jr., Justin Edwards, Ron Holland, Bronny James, Jared McCain, Jackson Shelstad, Sean Stewart, Dajuan Wagner Jr., Ja’Kobe Walter and Cody Williams.
Williams has everybody in Boulder buzzing with the amount of potential he is bringing, and with James’ destination unknown, there is still a possibility that a Williams-James matchup comes to fruition next year.
For now, they are on the same team, and this Team USA group is loaded with talent. In the past, the team has fared well with 253 alumni being selected in the NBA draft and 14 going first overall. NBADraft.net has even projected Williams to go No. 1 overall in 2024.
The Nike Hoops Men’s Summit will take place on April 8 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
