The 2023 NFL draft is officially underway following a chaos-filled first round that set the tone for another unexpected draft. There were a number of trades, an early run on quarterbacks and some top prospects falling in the first round — some even to Day 2.
The Chicago Bears shored up their pass protection with the addition of Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright with the 10th overall pick. They moved back one spot with the Philadelphia Eagles, swapping picks and receiving a 2024 fourth-round selection.

Heading into Day 2, Chicago has three selections — two in the second round (Nos. 53, 61) and one in the third round (No. 64). They still have some pressing needs to address, most notably at defensive tackle, edge rusher and cornerback.
