2023 Detroit Lions Super Bowl odds with conference, division and win total best bets

Analyzing 2023 NFL Super Bowl odds for the Detroit Lions, including best bets for win total, conference and division titles.

The Detroit Lions nearly made the postseason a year ago, finishing 9-8 after four consecutive seasons with no more than 6 wins. They have not been to the playoffs since the 2016-17 season and have not won a playoff game since the 1991-92 season.

Below, we look at the Detroit Lions’ 2023 NFL Super Bowl odds from BetMGM Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

They lost RB Jamaal Williams (now with Saints), WR DJ Chark (Panthers) and CB Amani Oruwariye (Giants) in free agency and traded RB D’Andre Swift (Eagles) but added WR Marvin Jones, CB Cameron Sutton, S C.J. Gardner-Johnson and RB David Montgomery in free agency.

They also added RB Jahmyr Gibbs and LB Jack Campbell in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

They hope to take the next step in their progress under coach Dan Campbell, win the division and make a run in the postseason.

Lions over/under win total

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook – last updated May 17 at 4:58 a.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 9.5 wins: (Over: -125 | Under: +105)

The Lions won 9 games last season, but the defense allowed the most yards per game (392.4) in the league. They tied for 28th in points allowed (25.1 per game) and lost 5 games by 4 or fewer points.

Looking at the NFC North, the Packers have taken a step back and the Bears are still ascending. The Lions also play teams like the Falcons and Panthers, both of whom are expected to struggle.

With an improved defense, that should be worth at least 1 more win.

BET OVER 9.5 WINS (-125).

Lions Super Bowl odds

  • +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

The Lions, while expected to compete for the division title, are still long shots to win the Super Bowl. The defending champion Chiefs are the favorites (+650), followed by the Super Bowl runner-up Eagles (+700).

At +2000, the Lions have 4.76% implied odds of winning the Super Bowl or 20/1 fractional odds.

While the Lions could make the postseason and even win the NFC North, they shouldn’t yet be considered real Super Bowl contenders this season.

PASS.

Will the Lions make the playoffs?

  • Yes -160 | No +130

The Lions just missed the last postseason because of tiebreakers.

Their improved defense and added weapons in Montgomery, Gibbs and Jones should get them at least a Wild Card berth.

BET YES (-160).

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Lions +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • Bears +325 (bet $100 to win $325)
  • Vikings +325 (bet $100 to win $325)
  • Packers +400 (bet $100 to win $400)

The Vikings’ 13-win campaign proved to be a bit of a fluke last season. The Bears are still young and the Packers traded away QB Aaron Rodgers (to the Jets) and will rely on Jordan Love as their starting quarterback.

This is as good a season as ever for the Lions to take control of the division.

They are the favorites at +130, giving them 43.48% implied odds of winning the division, or 13/10 fractional odds.

This is the season to back the Lions to win the North.

Lions odds to win NFC

    • +850 (bet $100 to win $850)

The Eagles (+275) and the 49ers (+350) are poised as the clear favorites in the conference and the Lions are not yet up to that level.

The Cowboys (+650) have a chance as well, but the Lions could be a sleeper with the 4th-shortest odds.

Backing the LIONS with a SMALL WAGER AT +850 is worth a play.
