2023 Cornerback Bravion Rogers decommits from Texas A&M

Well, darnit.

Texas A&M finally seemed to find its momentum on the recruiting trail at the end of July, mostly due to the annual barbeque/ recruiting pool party held on July 30th, the same day that they received a commitment from the No.1 linebacker prospect in the 2023 class, Anthony Hill while gaining a commitment from Shiner, Texas native and projected safety Dalton Brooks later that night.

However, late Monday night, The Aggies received the news that cornerback Bravion Rogers, one of two corners, including Jayvon Thomas, who committed to the Aggies in the 2023 class made the announcement that he is de-committing and re-opening his recruitment.

Rogers stated in a Twitter post,

I want to thank Texas A&M and the coaching staff for the oppurtunity they have given me. Also thanks to all of the fans for the love and support. But after long talks with my family I have decided to decommit from Texas A&M University. Wish nothing but the best to Aggieland! thank ya’ll!

Bravion Rogers was one of the earliest members of the 2023 class for the Aggies, committing on April 12th. Going into his senior year at La Grange High School in La Grange, Texas, he recorded 27 tackles, 6 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions during his junior season.

This news is surprising, to say the least, being that Rogers has been in close contact with the Texas A&M staff since committing in April and visiting the campus multiple times after the fact. After taking an unofficial visit to LSU in late may there is some speculation that the Tigers may have the inside track for a commitment from Rogers, but as we have seen from the ebbs and flows of Johnny Bowens recruitment, the Aggies will likely remain strongly in the mix, and will continue building their relationship with Rogers as long as his recruitment remains open.
