2023 5-Star WR Shelton Sampson Jr. sets visit date to Texas A&M

Texas A&M is hoping to catch fire on the recruiting trail as they enter the final stretch heading into the fall months, and with the infamous annual Aggie pool party attended by a number of high-profile 2023 and 2024 recruits occurring at the end of the month, a flood of commitments may ensue.

Overall, official campus visits remain the best way to gauge a recruit’s interest in a program, no matter where prediction models favor them beforehand, which brings us to one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2023 class, Shelton Sampson Jr., who announced his official visit to Texas A&M which is set for July 30th and will be officially attending the Aggie pool party. Sampson Jr. is going into his senior season at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he helped lead Catholic to a 12-1 record, and the Louisiana division 1 state title.

After announcing his Top 6 schools on April 18th which include Alabama, Michigan, LSU, Oregon, Florida State, and Texas A&M, he’s taken official visits to Florida State on June 10th, and Alabama on June 17th, which gives the Aggies coaching staff the opportunity to sell themselves and perhaps be the final visit for one of the most talented offensive players in the class.
