2022 Washington Commanders’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Washington Commanders, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The Washington Commanders finally received a new nickname and have a new outlook as the revolving door at quarterback continues in the 5th season since the franchise moved on from the signal-calling stability QB Kirk Cousins brought to the table.

Below, we look at the Washington Commanders’ 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

There’s a new face in town in QB Carson Wentz, who is looking to reclaim his career upon his return to the NFC East, and give some solid consistency to the Commanders.

QB Taylor Heinicke finished with 3,149 passing yards last season, snapping a 2-year drought of a Washington QB throwing for at least 1,800 yards.

The Commanders have to replace both starting guards after losing Brandon Scherff to the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency and releasing Ereck Flowers. The team went to free agency to find guard replacements in Andrew Norwell and Trai Turner, but the loss of Scherff will sting because he’s one of the best interior linemen in the league.

If Wentz is to succeed, he needs weapons and the Commanders used the NFL Draft to get him a pair – WR Jahan Dotson (Penn State) with the 16th overall pick and RB Brian Robinson Jr. (Alabama) in the 3rd round.

Dotson is undersized, but is capable of making a big play every time he touches the ball.

Robinson had to wait his turn behind Najee Harris, Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris at ‘Bama. Washington expects to see similar production from Robinson at the next level because he brings a similar skill set and the Crimson Tide have a long history of producing good NFL running backs.

Washington Commanders’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, May 24 at 7:59 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 7.5 (O: -130 | U: +110)

Despite having a turnstile at QB the last 4 years, Washington has managed to win 7 games in each of the last 2 seasons (since coach Ron Rivera took over) – with lesser QB talent than Wentz provides.

Many might not remember, but Washington won the NFC East just 2 seasons ago.

I predict wins against the Jaguars, Lions, Bears, Texans and Falcons, plus a sweep of the Giants. That’s 7 wins.

Washington has enough talent that it should be able to claim 1 or 2 more wins off its remaining schedule.

TAKE OVER 7.5 WINS (-130).

Washington Commanders’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +6000 (bet $100 to win $6,000)

Riverboat Ron has proved to be a successful coach with an inferior roster, but that doesn’t mean Washington can win it all with solid coaching. His team doesn’t have the elite talent on either side of the ball to be dominant – which is a prerequisite for any legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Last season, Washington had the 23rd-ranked scoring offense in the league and the 25th-ranked scoring defense. Even if the team improves in both of those categories and get to the middle of the pack, that’s still not enough to make a run for a championship. PASS.

Washington Commanders’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Commanders make the playoffs: Yes +175 | No -220

The Cowboys are the most talented team in the division and the Eagles made some big moves in the offseason to put themselves in playoff contention. With the exception of Wentz – who many aren’t convinced will ever be an elite QB – the Commanders essentially spun their wheels in free agency by adding some pieces while losing others that were likely better.

You have to invest a lot to win this one, but the odds are stacked against Washington to make a playoff run.

BET NO (-220).

Odds to win NFC East Division

  • Dallas Cowboys +110 (bet $100 to win $110)
  • New York Giants +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Philadelphia Eagles +190 (bet $100 to win $190)
  • Washington Commanders +500 (bet $100 to win $500)

Washington will struggle to get to .500, which at times has put teams in the thick of the division race in the NFC East. Getting a 5-to-1 return on investment is solid, but the Commanders simply can’t hang with the Cowboys and Eagles given the depth of their rosters and the lack of quality depth on Washington’s. PASS.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +3000 (bet $100 to win $3,000)

When you’re projected to finish 3rd in a weak top-to-bottom division, that never bodes well for making the playoffs, much less going to the Super Bowl. The Commanders have a young core that could be something with a couple more years of solid drafting, but that time hasn’t arrived yet. PASS.
