2022 Players Championship: The top 36 finishers will be paid a ridiculous amount of money

Even the last-place finisher will make a good chunk of change this year.

The 2022 Players Championship kicks off Thursday morning (weather permitting!) at the legendary TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. where there will be a record amount of money on the line for the best players in the world.

Seriously, the payouts this year are going to be ridiculous. I’m sure even Phil Mickelson, who won’t be playing, has to be impressed with what the PGA Tour is doing for its players this year.

The total purse is a record $20 million bucks with a whopping $3.6 million going to the winner. To put things in perspective, Scottie Scheffler got $2.2 million for winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week.

But the winner isn’t the only one who will bring home seven figures. So will the second and third place finishers.
