2022 NFL draft: 7 speed WRs for the Steelers to consider

Here are seven of the fastest wide receivers in the 2022 NFL draft.

In watching the AFC playoff teams last weekend in the divisional round, one thing is clear. Speed kills. Especially speed at wide receiver. These teams all have guys who can either pull the top off a secondary on a deep route or just run by defenders who think they have good angles on short and intermediate throws.

This is a problem for the Pittsburgh Steelers. First, they don’t have the speed on defense to defend these types of players. But that’s a conversation for another day.

We are here to talk about the Steelers adding speed at the wide receiver position. With the potential of JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud all leaving in free agency, wide receiver is already a need. These guys just add an element of the offense none of the remaining players can give them.

Over the course of the next few months, we will dig deeper into these and many more prospects but this is an early taste of seven legit speed receivers in this draft that can be had all over the draft from the first all the way through the seventh round.
