March Madness is here and the Mountain West is getting four Mountain West teams in the

Boise State was the first team to be announced for Selection Sunday and they are taking on Memphis from the AAC. The Tigers were a preseason dark horse team to make a deep tournament run but the season did not go as well. The Penny Hardaway-led Memphis team did make it to the AAC tournament final before losing to Houston, 71-53.

They do play in Portland which should give Boise State more of a home-court advantage with likely a slew of Broncos fans making the close trip to see them in an NCAA Tournament game.

If Boise State are victorious they would very likely face No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga with storylines abound which include Boise State head coach Leon Rice going up against his former boss Mark Few.

Colorado State Rams earned a six seed and will take on No. 11 Michigan out of the Big Ten. The Wolverines have had a few issues the past few weeks when their head coach Juwan Howard was suspended for five games as he struck Wisconsin assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft in the handshake line.

Michigan was another team that had high goals but fell off after being ranked within the top 10 early in the season.

San Diego State is also a No. 8 seed and fill face Creighton out of the Big East and the winner will likely get Kansas in the Round of 32 as they are the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region.

Wyoming snuck into the field of 68 and are in the play-in game as a 12 seed and will face Indiana. The winner will take on No. 5 St. Mary’s.

This is Wyoming’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015, and the Cowboys were the last team to make the field.
