It remains to be seen whether Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant recovers from his MCL sprain in time to play in the 2022 NBA All-Star Game on February 20, but he’ll have the honor of drafting his own team for the second consecutive year as an All-Star captain.
Durant garnered 6,789,863 fan votes, edging Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo by more than 300,000 votes. Durant also received more player votes than any other player in the league at 207, and was one of six unanimous picks by the media, along with Steph Curry, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.
James will face off against Durant as the other All-Star captain, making for the second Team Durant vs. Team LeBron All-Star Game we’ve seen. Last year in Atlanta, Team LeBron took a commanding first-half advantage and beat Team Durant 170-150.
