2022 Miami Marlins World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Miam Marlins, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The Miami Marlins went 65-97 (.414) last season. The Fish faltered after a solid 23-25 start as they struggled mightily on offense and went just 42-72 (.368) the rest of the way. Miami sported a better-than-MLB-average 4.33 ERA for the season, but it ranked 29th in offense, at 3.85 runs per game.

Productive offensive players were traded in an effort to get younger with extended-years contract control. Outfielders Starling Marte and Adam Duvall were dealt at the trade deadline that helped precipitate Miami’s second-half slide. Was that slide a bottoming-out? Can the youthful-but-pitching-rich Marlins make a move forward this season? Below, we look at the Miami Marlins MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Miami Marlins 2022 World Series odds

Odds: +8000 (bet $100 to win $8,000)

Miami is a down-the-ballot option in World Series futures. The Los Angeles Dodgers (+450) are the favorites, followed by the Houston Astros (+900) and Toronto Blue Jays (+900). Teams ranked 15th and 16th for shortest odds come in at +3000.

At +8000, Miami has an implied probability of winning the World Series of 1.23% or 80/1 fractional odds.

These odds aren’t nearly long enough: PASS.

Miami Marlins 2022 playoff odds

Will Braves make the playoffs: Yes +240 | No -310

The NL Wild Card mix figures to allow for a story like the Marlins … or something similar to it. But these prices don’t deserve a Yes wager. No is worth a look, but a PASS is probably the best course of action.

Miami Marlins 2022 win total

Over/Under: 76.5 (O: -115 | U: -115)

Miami added outfielders Jorge Soler and Avisail Garcia in the offseason. With pitching and defense leading the way — behind the starting rotation core of Trevor Rogers, Sandy Alcantara, and Pablo Lopez — the Marlins have a chance to be more competitive in games if not more competitive in the NL East.

But this total is likely overcooked now. Parts of the market have seen it rise four full games from 72.5 less-than a month ago. That and the 30-cent line here make for a PASS being the wise maneuver.

Odds to win NL East Division

  • Atlanta Braves +115 (bet $100 to win $115)
  • New York Mets +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Philadelphia Phillies +320 (bet $100 to win $320)
  • Miami Marlins +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)
  • Washington Nationals +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

Miami’s implied probability of winning the NL East is 6.25% or 15/1 fractional odds. Spring training injuries and prognostication adjustments have changed this division more than any other over recent weeks. But the odds at the bottom are still nowhere close to what’s needed for some value. AVOID.

Odds to win National League

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

It sounds too simplistic and wishful to say I wish every level of the Marlins’ futures betting were the same price at one lesser level. (In other words, getting Miami’s World Series tag to win the NL, getting its NL price to win the East, etc.) But that’s how far off from getting any leverage these down-the-list teams are.

The Fish figure to be an interesting team to watch in 2022. And a somewhat instructive one for learning the curve of tanking teams, when they start their ascension, and when some betting leverage starts to appear. My sense of the 2022 Marlins is that the most leverage to be had will be in single-game match-ups. PASS on this pennant future.
