2022 4-star Alabama LB target sets commitment date for Wednesday

Four-star linebacker Anthony Johnson will commit to one of four finalists on Wednesday. Alabama is in the mix.

Alabama is looking to get some early momentum going with its 2022 recruiting class. After securing four-star tight end Elijah Brown last week, the Crimson Tide is hoping to land another top recruit on Wednesday.

Four-star inside linebacker Anthony Johnson out of Neumann Goretti High School will choose between four finalists at 9 p.m. ET. The Philadelphia, Pa. native announced the news via his Twitter account on Tuesday night.

The finalists, as you can see, are Alabama, Oregon, Auburn and Rutgers. Steve Wiltfong with 247Sports recently put in a Crystal Ball prediction for the Scarlett Knights, but anything can still happen.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Johnson is rated as the nation’s No. 165 overall player, No. 7 inside linebacker and No. 6 player from the state of Pennsylvania.

If Alabama were to land Johnson, it would give the 2022 class a strong pairing at inside linebacker.

Robert Woodyard, the nation’s No. 68 overall prospect and No. 4 inside linebacker, is already committed to the Crimson Tide. He has been since late June of 2020, making him the first currently committed player for the class of 2022.

Stay tuned to find out where Johnson ends up on Wednesday!
