2022 3-star safety Jake Pope names Georgia football among top-5 schools

We are right in the middle of a very important season for recruits across the country. Prospects have finally been able to visit programs this month after the NCAA’s dead-period was lifted June 1, prompting more commitments and decisions as we grow closer to 2021 season.

One of the most recent prospects to include Georgia football in his final schools is Buford High School receiver and safety Jake Pope.

Pope (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) holds 36 offers and is rated as the No. 27 safety in the country, the No. 38 recruit in the state of Georgia and the No. 384 prospect overall in the 2022 recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite.

Besides getting reps at both receiver and safety, the Buford, Ga., native also returns kickoffs and helped lead his Buford team to a 13-1 season and the AAAAAA state championship.

Pope will be deciding between Alabama, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Georgia.

The Bulldogs currently hold the No. 5 ranked recruiting class.
