Analyzing Team USA and Team Europe, along with the golf odds to win the 2021 Ryder Cup, plus picks, predictions and best bets.

At long last, the Ryder Cup is on hand as the golf world turns to Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Team USA and Team Europe, led by captains Steve Stricker and Padraig Harrington, respectively, will battle for the 43rd time. Below, we look at the 2021 Ryder Cup odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Team Europe has won four of the last five, and seven of the last nine, Ryder Cups since the turn of the millennium. The Europeans won at Le Golf National in France in 2018, with the Americans’ last victory coming in 2016 at Hazeltine National Golf Club.

Team USA enters the 2021 Ryder Cup with an all-time 26-14-2 record. Team Europe is 11-8-1 since the former Great Britain and Ireland team was expanded beginning in 1979.

2021 Ryder Cup picks

Back EUROPE (+135) to Lift the Trophy as it just needs a tie to retain the title as the reigning champion. EUROPE (+190) as Ryder Cup winner can also be taken for a greater payout, albeit with the threat of a 14-14 tie.

The Ryder Cup hasn’t finished in a tie since 1989, with Europe retaining the trophy as the reigning champ.

Team USA’s 12 members have an average Official Golf World Ranking of 9 and average age of 29.1. Team Europe ranks 31st in the OWGR, on average, but has experience on its side with an average age of 34.6. Five members of Team Europe have played in at least four Ryder Cups, while only Johnson has played in at least four editions of the international competition for the Americans.

Experience has long held weight in this competition and the Europeans have it in spades as the Americans continue to transition into a new age of top-flight golfers.
