Overview

Long snappers have the unenvious opposition of being pointed out mostly when they mess up. Fortunately for Chris Stoll, he has been able to fly under the radar with his reliable play snapping the football on special teams assignments.

Stoll has been Penn State’s primary long snapper for 22 career games, including all nine games played in 2020. He may not get all the glory at that position, but he certainly has a way of making his home town proud with his commitment to the role he plays.

One of the coolest stories about Stoll is he is carrying on the legacy of former linebacker Micha Parsons, in a sense. When Parsons opted out of the 2020 season to begin focusing on the NFL draft, Parsons informed head coach James Franklin he would like his scholarship to go to Stoll, who had been a preferred walkon.

Heading into the 2021 season, Phil Steele has listed Stoll as a Fourth Team All-Big Ten long snapper.

Stoll will continue being the reliable long snapper on special teams duties this upcoming season for the Nittany Lions.
