2021 NFL Draft: Trevor Lawrence labrum surgery set for Tuesday

Trevor Lawrence now has his pro day behind him and will have surgery on his left labrum on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

With his pro day going smoothly and behind him, former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence now has a date set for the surgical procedure on his left labrum. Per Ian Rapoport, the date is set for Tuesday, Feb. 16, and Dr. Neal ElAttrache of Kerlan-Jobe in Los Angeles will be performing the procedure.

The news of Lawrence needing surgery surfaced last week, so he elected to have a pro day on Friday to put him on a timeline that would have him ready for training camp. In this case, a five to six-month full recovery process would make him available around mid-July or August, though Lawrence himself said he could be throwing within six to eight weeks.

Lawrence’s surgery isn’t expected to change the Jags’ decision to take him first overall. After all, Jags coach Urban Meyer was the one to suggest having a pro day early and watched the process within a five-yard radius of the Clemson star.
