As the 247Sports Crystal Balls have started to come in for one of Michigan’s top 2021 in-state targets for Ohio State, the No. 33 player in the class, regardless of position, is making his case for staying home.
West Bloomfield (MI) four-star running back Donovan Edwards recently broke down his recruitment for WolverinesWire, noting that Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma and Georgia are all working hard to secure his services at the next level, but the Buckeyes are assuredly making a run at him. He seems to have heard the clamoring from Michigan fans on social media, because he made a statement of his own on Instagram on Tuesday evening.

Edwards doesn’t post much on the Facebook-owned photo sharing service, but when he has, it’s mostly been high school pictures. Of course, he also posted a picture of him and Michigan QB commit J.J. McCarthy on their recent visit to Ann Arbor, and then his unofficial visit to Georgia a few weeks later.
But he wants people to remember that, no matter what he chooses, home is where the heart is with his latest post.
Based on conversations we’ve had with four people, Michigan has some work to do to overcome the momentum being gained by its rivals to the south and Alabama. But, at the moment, Edwards’ recruitment is far from over.
