2021 Arizona Diamondbacks World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Arizona Diamondbacks, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Arizona Diamondbacks were initially expected to be able to push the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West in the 60-game 2020 season but that didn’t happen. They finished the season 25-35 and in last place in the division. Below, we look at the Arizona Diamondbacks’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Arizona didn’t do much this offseason after loading up last season. They did not bring back RPs Hector Rondon or Junior Guerra and also bought out starter Mike Leake. They added a pair of relievers to the back end of the bullpen, signing RHPs Joakim Soria and Tyler Clippard to one-year deals and also added INF Asdrubal Cabrera.

They shaved more than $25 million off last year’s payroll and added no new starters to the rotation.

Arizona, with 100/1 fractional odds and an implied 0.99% chance of winning the World Series, is one of the longest shots to win it all entering this season. The favorites are the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers at +350, followed by the New York Yankees at +550.

Only two teams have longer odds than Arizona — the Texas Rangers at +15000 and the Pittsburgh Pirates at +20000.

Arizona Diamondbacks’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 75.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

It goes without saying that the Diamondbacks severely underperformed in 2020, for whatever reason. Pretty much every player they were counting on had a bad season.

Their 2020 winning percentage would translate to 67.5 wins in a 162-game schedule, so oddsmakers understand expectations should be higher in 2021, even when they aren’t expected to be good.

To hit the Over this year, the D-Backs would need a winning percentage of .469. They have had a lower win percentage in only two of their last 10 seasons and only once since Torey Lovullo became manager. Their slumping hitters will be better and their pitchers surely can’t be as bad as they were last season. Bet OVER 75.5 (-110).

Odds to win the NL West

  • Los Angeles Dodgers: -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • San Diego Padres: +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Diamondbacks: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • San Francisco Giants: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • Colorado Rockies: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

The division is a two-team race with three long shots. Arizona has an implied 1.96% chance of winning the division. PASS on a bet on the D-Backs.

Odds to win the National League

Odds: +8000 (Bet $100 to win $8,000)

Again, Arizona is one of the biggest long shots in the league. Only the Pittsburgh Pirates have longer odds of winning the NL at +10000. Arizona is tied with Colorado with the longest odds in the division to win the National League pennant.

The Dodgers lead the way at +180, followed by the Padres at +420 and then both the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets at +600.

PASS on a bet on Arizona.
