2020 Virtual Notre Dame Football Cards: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah – Linebacker

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s nine tackles, three sacks and four tackles for loss and forced fumble in the Camping World Bowl win over Iowa State landed him a spot on ESPN’s 2019/20 All-Bowl Team.

After one year on the scout team and a sophomore year lost to a broken foot, Owusu-Koramoah burst onto the scene in 2019 and emerged as a leader of the defense.  The Rover backer improved greatly last year because in his head coach Brian Kelly’s eyes, “he’s getting lined up”.

Now think of a full year of that as he enters knowing he’s “the guy” in the linebackers group.  Owusu-Koramoah is as talented of player as there is on the defense and assuming health, should be at or near the top of the tackles, tackles for loss and sacks lists again for the Irish this season.

In one of those good football problems, a year anything like last year for Owusu-Koramoah will likely make him a projected early round pick for the 2021 NFL Draft, something nobody could blame him for entering even if he will have a year of eligibility remaining.
