The 2020 NFL season has been a tumultuous one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite all the struggles of COVID-19, this team found a way to win its first 11 games. But then the bottom fell out and this team hit a wall.

Pittsburgh went on a three-game losing streak and this brought the critics out of the woodwork to question if this team was a fraud. Everyone decided to start pointing fingers about who to blame and no one could escape criticism.

But after the Steelers rallied to beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16, it seemed Pittsburgh had regained their spark. Their edge. The loss to the Browns the next week was meaningless given the Steelers had rested so many players and honestly inspired the team thanks to playing the Browns so close.

This week the Steelers play their first playoff game since the 2017 season and they do it with nearly full health. Meanwhile, the Browns are decimated thanks to injuries and COVID-19 and will be minus several key starters and even their head coach.

There’s no reason Pittsburgh shouldn’t advance in the playoffs. This is what makes this game even more nerve-racking. Where will the fingers get pointed if the Steelers are one and done again in the playoffs? Given how bad things could get in 2021 with the salary cap, this is the team’s last best shot at a Super Bowl.
