2. J.K. Dobbins, Ohio State 5-10, 217 (2)
Why He’s Here On The List: If you want to make him No. 1, there’s no argument. He looks the part, he has the right size, he has the right all-around skills, and he stepped up in a big, big way against the big-time teams on the slate. So what’s the knock? He worked behind one of the best offensive lines in the country and on a team loaded with NFL talent. Yeah, but … he was a special player on a team full of special players.
What The NFL Types Want To See: Can he be that much quicker and faster than D’Andre Swift and Jonathan Taylor? His style might not be sudden enough for some, and he’ll take a whole slew of big shots, but as long as the tools match the tape – and then some – he’ll be an interesting call.
Bottom Line: Underappreciated, there’s going to be high-fiving in the room for anyone able to get him. All the knocks are nitpicking – it depends on what a team is looking for. It’s not fair to put the pressure on any prospect, but he might be a fantastic draft value with Christian McCaffrey upside.
