2020 NFL Combine: Defensive End, Edge Rusher Prospects, Invites, What To Watch For

Rankings and what to watch for out of all the defensive end, edge rusher prospects invited to the 2020 NFL Combine.

1. Chase Young, Ohio State 6-5, 265 (Top 5 overall)

Why He’s Here On The List: Yeah, Cincinnati is almost certain to take Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick, but Young is going to be at the top of several draft boards by ten miles. Okay, he disappeared at times late in the season, and he was erased when teams made a fully-focused effort to take him out of a game, but that’s sort of the point. It takes everything in the bag to keep him from dominating.

What The NFL Types Want To See: Just how much better and more athletic is he than everyone else? Is he really worth a top three overall pick in a loaded top part of the draft, or is it worth trading down to get one of the other good pass rushers this year? This is his chance to cement himself as a must-have, probably at the two.

Bottom Line: When the Ohio State people are saying that Nick Bosa was special – obviously – but Young is better … yeeeeeeeesh. Here it is. Here’s the ideal pass rushing prospect from every way and angle, with the fight, the speed, the competitiveness, and the game-changing ability to take over a franchise.
