2020 NBA Draft prospect Desmond Bane models his game after Nets sharpshooter

2020 NBA Draft prospect Desmond Bane says he was in contact with the Brooklyn Nets well before the 2020 NBA Draft Combine.

Several 2020 NBA Draft Prospects have revealed the Nets have been in contact with them since the 2020 NBA Draft Combine began on Monday, but it turns out there was at least one player who heard from Brooklyn prior to the combine.

In fact, TCU’s Desmond Bane says he spoke to the Nets well before the restart of the 2019-20 season in the Disney bubble. The two-time All-Big 12 selection told reporters on Wednesday he was interviewed by Brooklyn back in April — which he enjoyed — per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.

Additionally, Bane told reporters he models his game off a the members for the Nets: Joe Harris. And Bane expressed he likes Harris’ complete offensive game, not solely his sharp-shooting, per Schiffer.

A 6-foot-6 guard, Bane shot 43.3% from deep throughout his four-year career at TCU, averaging 12.7 points per game. (Both numbers are weighed down by his freshman year averages: 38.0 3-point percentage and 7.1 points per game.)
