After being pushed back several times, the NBA has reportedly settled on hosting the 2020 NBA Draft on Nov. 18, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Teams started preparing for the possibility that the draft would be pushed back from Oct. 16 as the NBA and NBPA worked to finalize the salary cap for the 2020-21 season. Executives wanted the salary cap figures to be set in order to be able to conduct trades around the draft.
The delay to the NBA Draft will also allow the league to finalize plans for a combine and other pre-draft preparations. The league has discussed the possibility of holding a virtual draft combine at regional team facilities throughout the league.
