The longtime Wolverines pledge opts to head elsewhere late in the cycle.

There had to be something up when he didn’t sign his National Letter or Intent on Early Signing Day.

While most verbally committed to Michigan put pen to paper in December, including three of the Wolverines four commitments from Baltimore (MD) St. Frances Academy, something assuredly was up with offensive tackle pledge Micah Mazzccua. The behemoth from the DMV still participated in late-December/early-January in the Under Armour All-America Game, and insisted he would be signing eventually.

Where, though?

It turns out not Michigan, as Mazzccua took to Twitter on Sunday evening to announce that he has flipped from the maize and blue to the Big 12, as he committed to Baylor.

Michigan does have Blake Corum, Osman Savage and Nikhai Hill-Green, Mazzccua’s high school teammates, all signed. It also has signed offensive linemen Reece Atteberry, Jeffrey Persi and Zak Zinter.
