The NBA announced on Thursday that the 2020 Jr. NBA Global Championship will return to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla.
The Jr. NBA Global Championship, set to take place Aug. 11-16, is a youth basketball tournament for 32 of the top 13- and 14-year-old boys and girls teams from around the world and will once again air on FOX Sports.
During the weeklong event, all 32 teams will participate in off-court activities alongside current and former NBA and WNBA players designed to reinforce the Jr. NBA’s core values and provide the players with development opportunities and memorable experiences.
Dwyane Wade, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Breanna Stewart, Swin Cash, Grant Hill and Aaron Gordon were among the NBA and WNBA ambassadors to attend the event last year and watch the competition, interact with the youth teams and participate in leadership development programs.
The Jr. NBA events have helped promote player health and wellness over the years and have hosted a number of current and former NBA and WNBA players, such as Draymond Green, Candice Wiggins, Mile Bridges, Kelsey Plum and several others.
