Golden Dome Region – Second Round Results:
1988 is well-represented here and will be favored to have a pair of representatives in the Golden Dome Regional Final after the Second Round’s conclusion.
Top-seeded ’88 West Virginia gets a win over ’90 Miami, the 8-seed, 67-33%. It will now meet 4. Michigan ’88 who beat 5. Michigan State of 2006, 56-44%.
The lowest remaining seed in the Golden Dome Region belongs to the six, 2006 UCLA. Brady Quinn’s late hookup with Jeff Samardzija moved on with a thrilling win over 1996 Texas, 57-43%. Voting was very close in this one late but the young crowd must have cast the majority of late ballots as things went from 52% to 57% in their favor over the final 90 minutes of voting.
Finally, the two-seed, 1988 USC demolished the seventh seeded, 1986 comeback over USC 80-20% to reach the Sweet 16.
