Jersy designs are always a hot topic for fans to debate. Most fans love the classic design, much love jerseys for nostalgic reasons, and others are not as involved in the debate as everybody else.
For fans of the Philadelphia 76ers, they have had a lot of jersey designs throughout the years. Currently, they are sporting the red, white, and blue look with a little cream color for their city edition uniforms. There is one jersey design that is unlike most designs in Sixers history and that was the dazzle jerseys worn in the 2000s.
Philadelphia ditched the red, white, and blue colors during the Allen Iverson era and they rolled with black jerseys which were out of the norm. However, most fans loved them due to the success they had while wearing the uniform. ESPN ranked those jerseys as the 13th best in the history of the NBA as they wrote:
Seasons worn: 2000-06
Notable players in this look: Allen Iverson, Dikembe Mutombo, Eric Snow, Aaron McKie
As if the star athlete wearing these uniforms wasn’t rare enough, the “dazzle” fabric that the Sixers wore when few teams around the team were doing it only made Allen Iverson stand out more. The fact that he had it on for Game 1 of the 2001 Finals only cemented its appeal. — McMenamin
The older Sixers fans are not big supporters of these jerseys, but they do certainly have a bit of a “razzle-dazzle” to them. That along with the success they had while wearing the uniform earned them a high spot on this ranking. [lawrence-related id=30569,30563,30548]
