We can thank Kanye West for bringing Rugby-style clothes into vogue for young Americans in the mid-to-late 2000s. Here, LeBron is reflecting what would soon become a bigger part of his style by going to a more preppy look. Also, this was likely a side-effect of the NBA dress code that was instituted by David Stern in the 2005-06 season.
