There were plenty of talented quarterbacks around the NFL who found new homes this offseason.
Gil Brandt over at NFL.com ranked the top 10 quarterbacks on new squads and two former Vikings appear.
At No. 5 is Teddy Bridgwater, who signed with the Panthers this offseason to be their new starting quarterback. This comes a season after Bridgewater led the Saints to a 5-0 record filling in for an injured Drew Brees in 2019.
Bridgewater, a 2014 first-round pick out of Louisville, was with the Vikings from 2014-2017. He’d likely still be the Vikings’ starting quarterback if not for suffering a gruesome knee injury in 2016.
Coming in right behind Bridgewater on the list is Case Keenum. Keenum and Bridgewater were actually teammates in 2017. Keenum led the Vikings to the NFC Championship game while Bridgewater was still recovering from his knee injury.
Keenum is now a backup quarterback with Kevin Stefanski’s Browns. With Baker Mayfield’s shaky play in 2019, maybe Keenum will get an opportunity in Cleveland.
