The New York Mets had one of their Mets-iest games of the season on Tuesday night at home against the Baltimore Orioles.
Two absolutely cringeworthy lowlights summed up the 9-5 loss to Baltimore, including one where catcher Francisco Alvarez fell while trying to field a ball that Orioles infielder Ramón Urías hit in the fourth inning.
The Mets error let Urías get on base and also sparked another Orioles player on second base to make his way to home plate for a run. Yikes!
Arguably the worst of the two moments came in the ninth inning when Mets left-fielder Brandon Nimmo tried to go for a long hit from Orioles slugger Gunnar Henderson and also fell to the grass while trying to field the ball.
Baltimore scored an additional two runs off the error and walked away with the victory. Poor Kevin James picked this as the Mets game he’d do the intro for this season!
This is one of the plays in Mets history 😅
