7. Week 7 2019: The goal line stand
By Week 7, Titans fans had almost given up all hope for the 2019 season. The team was dreadful offensively and had been shut out the week prior, and the team owned a 2-4 record and needed to make a serious run to turn things around.
Enter Ryan Tannehill, who replaced Mariota the week prior and was officially named the starter in Week 7. Tannehill gave the fan base immediate hope by throwing for 312 yards and two scores, but even with his impressive effort he still needed help from the defense.
And that help came in the form of a huge goal line stand late in the game after Philip Rivers drove the Chargers down the field to set them up at the one-yard line.
Tennessee would go on to make four huge stops on the Chargers to prevent them from getting into the end zone, and Wesley Woodyard’s forced fumble on Melvin Gordon was the play that iced the game.
