When we last visited this list of potential players on the NBA market in mid-December, there were some big names on the list.
Kevin Love, D’Angelo Russell, LaMarcus Aldridge … it all seemed possible at that time that we’d be talking about where they might be shipped to by Thursday’s trade deadline.
Now? It feels kind of quiet on those fronts. No words yet on Love and his humongous contract, Russell to the Timberwolves sounds like it’s dead and Aldridge figured out how to step back a few feet and has been draining threes.
There was one HUGE deal early Wednesday morning involving Clint Capela and Robert Covington, so those names are off the board. Here are others who could be on the move:
1. Jrue Holiday, New Orleans Pelicans
I’m merely listing him in case the Pels can get an amazing return for him. But it feels like he’s happy staying and that the Pelicans aren’t getting what they’d want for the talented veteran point guard.
New Orleans continues to be content with Jrue Holiday remaining on roster through Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline, league sources tell ESPN. The kind of overwhelming offer it would take to pry Holiday hasn’t surfaced in the marketplace.

2. Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons
Another name that seems to have cooled off in the rumor mill. Would he fit on another team as one of the league’s best rebounders but not as a shooter? Are teams nervous about having to pay him $28.7 million next year if he exercises his option or giving up assets only to see him walk into free agency? Probably the latter.
3. Danilo Gallinari, Oklahoma City Thunder
I LOVE the idea of the Heat acquiring the stretch four, but OKC is also playing super well. It seems more likely the Thunder will deal him with his contract expiring.
4. Tristan Thompson, Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs have to deal him while he’s having a career year and with his expiring contract.
The to do list in New York:
1. Navigate the trade deadline without risking flexibility
🏀Turn Marcus Morris into a first round pick.
🏀 Do not sacrifice draft picks for a short-term fix.

5. Marcus Morris, New York Knicks
Same as Thompson.
6. Derrick Rose, Detroit Pistons
There are a few contenders who would love to have the rejuvenated Rose coming off the bench, scoring and creating. There should be a healthy market for the former MVP.
7. Alec Burks, Golden State Warriors
He’s been great for the terrible short-handed Warriors, and if Golden State can get anything back for him, they should deal him.
8. Andre Iguodala, Memphis Grizzlies
The holdout situation got messy this week and the young Grizzlies are eager to see the vet get dealt. I’d love to see him on the Lakers working with LeBron James, but he could end up in Miami …
“Sources tell me that the Heat have emerged as a suitor for Andre Iguodala.”

9. Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Lakers
If the Lakers want any kind of upgrade, they’ll probably need to trade Kuzma.
Knicks have had exploratory conversations on Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

10. Davis Bertans, Washington Wizards
Are the Wizards going to deal him or re-sign the sharp-shooter? Seems like they’re keeping him at the moment.
11. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Sacramento Kings
This is tricky. He’s a great shooting guard for the Kings, but because they already gave Buddy Hield a huge extension, they may not be able to re-sign the restricted free-agent-to-be. So they may have to deal him.
