Who could forget the classic 2002 film, Like Mike? In that totally realistic movie, a young Calvin Cambridge — aided by magic sneakers — schooled his favorite basketball player in a halftime one-on-one promotion and ended up scoring an NBA contract with the fictional Los Angeles Knights.
Well, 10-year-old Lakers fan, Maxx, is ready to star in the sequel.
During a timeout of the Lakers’ Tuesday win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Lakers invited the 10-year-old to try to score as many points as he could in a 30-second span. That included shots from the NBA three-point line, and Maxx’s game was so impressive that he caught the attention of the Lakers players.

The kid’s shot is absolute money.
But really, keep an eye on the Lakers’ bench. As the contest unfolded, you could see the players actually turn to watch Maxx shoot. When the contest was over, JaVale McGee came over to give Maxx a high-five.
Maxx can expect that 10-day contract any day now. He deserves it.
