Tennessee will kick off its 2023 football season in 100 days.
The Vols will play Virginia on Sept. 2 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Tennessee leads the all-time series versus Virginia, 3-1.
Tennessee and Virginia last played in the 1991 Sugar Bowl. Tennessee defeated the Cavaliers, 23-22.
The 2023 season will be the third for Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel. Heupel has compiled an 18-8 (10-6 SEC) record as the Vols’ head coach since 2021.
Tennessee’s 2023 home schedule has contests against Austin Peay, UTSA, South Carolina, Texas A&M, UConn, Georgia and Vanderbilt.
The Vols’ road schedule has games at Alabama, Florida, Kentucky and Missouri.
