8. The kicking game won’t be a problem all year long
It took awhile, but Michigan’s inconsistency in the place kicking game got figured out.
Former special teams coordinator Chris Partridge always said that Quinn Nordin’s biggest issue was between his ears. Well, he seemingly figured everything out down the stretch, supplanting second-year kicker Jake Moody on field goals and drilling some long ones as the season wore on.
Nordin is back for his fifth-year, and Moody also returns. They should continue to make each other better, but we anticipate that it’s Nordin’s job to lose.
Either way, Michigan will be in good hands in this regard, and the ups-and-downs of this unit should be more on the upswing than not.
