1 pending free agent Dolphins should target from each NFC East team

The Dolphins will enter 2020 free agency window with 1 of the biggest cap totals in the league. Who should they target from the NFC East?

Washington Redskins – Offensive Guard Brandon Scherff

The Dolphins do need to tread carefully with the proposition of adding Scherff. The powerful guard is a tremendous asset — when he’s on the field. But injuries have cost him significant playing time in each of the last two seasons, so signing a 28-year old guard as the most expensive player at his position does hit a little too close to home for Dolphins fans.

Careless spending here would feel much like the 2016-2018 Dolphins under Mike Tannenbaum — so if the Dolphins are to pursue Scherff, they need to have a backup plan ready in the event that the bidding war takes them to an uncomfortable dollar amount.

But if the price is reasonable, this is a no brainer addition for Miami.
