WWE SmackDown results: World Cup time! No, not that World Cup …

Get WWE SmackDown results for the Nov. 18, 2022 episode from Hartford, featuring two more SmackDown World Cup first-round matches.

While the football World Cup may not be allowing beer near the proceedings, we’re all in favor of cracking open a cold one for WWE SmackDown in Hartford this week, whether you are at the arena or watching at home.

(Neither if you have to drive anywhere, though, please be responsible.)

It’s not just a random cheap shot we’re taking at soccer, however, because the SmackDown World Cup is very much a part of the action on this week’s show. One first-round match will see Butch take on Sami Zayn in what should be an excellent contest. As well, you may recall that their respective groups, the Brawling Brutes and the Bloodline, have been at each other’s throats quite a bit. Could that lead to a WarGames match at Survivor Series? All signs point to yes.

The other first-round World Cup match doesn’t have the same faction-related intrigue, but should still be a barnburner nonetheless. We’re talking Ricochet vs. Mustafa Ali, which means you should hold onto your butts. High-flying moves? You’re about to see some.

And in the women’s division, Shotzi won the right to call herself the next contender for Ronda Rousey‘s SmackDown Women’s Championship. But before she gets that opportunity, she’ll do battle with Rousey’s right-hand woman, Shayna Baszler. Can Shotzi prove something to herself … and Rousey?

With Survivor Series WarGames just eight days away, there’s bound to be a bit more in terms of solidifying that card. There’s also every chance we’ll see Bray Wyatt, since SmackDown is supposed to be his show. All good reasons to tune in to FOX, or to simply bookmark this page for the latest WWE SmackDown results as they happen from Hartford.
