Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater didn’t make an effort to tackle Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay on a fumble return in Week 10, and he’s taken a lot of heat for that decision (including getting called out by his own coach).
Former NFL coach Rex Ryan, who now works as an analyst for ESPN, went as far as to even say he would bench Bridgewater if he was Denver’s coach. If the Broncos wanted to make a QB change and switch to Drew Lock, their bye week would be a good time to do so, but coach Vic Fangio plans to stick with Bridgewater.
“I respect Rex Ryan in his opinion but I don’t agree with him at this point,” Fangio said during his Zoom press conference Monday when asked about Ryan’s comments.
And how about a possible QB change?
“No, Teddy’s our quarterback moving forward.”
So that’s that.
Denver won’t making any coaching changes this week, either.
