Will Malcolm Brogdon be ready and willing to play for the Boston Celtics on opening night?

Between health and his rumored ire over nearly being traded, this is a fair question.

Veteran Boston Celtics reserve guard Malcolm Brogdon’s silence over the course of the NBA’s 2023 offseason and his undisclosed injury status raises questions about his readiness for the season and his reported discontent with the ball club.

Brogdon was nearly dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers in the first configuration of the trade that brought star big man Kristaps Porzingis to Boston.

Will Brogdon be ready to play on opening night? Will he still be irked about nearly being shipped to a West Coast team just weeks after being named 2023 Sixth Man of the Year for the league?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast linked up with the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn to talk over the status of Brogdon’s relationship with Boston’s front office and his health on a recent episode.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
