The Miami Dolphins are a little over a week away from engaging in the most prominent scouting event of the 2021 offseason — the Senior Bowl. With the coronavirus pandemic threatening much of the status quo in the NFL Draft process, the Senior Bowl will continue on as usual. Just with some socially distanced modifications and plenty of COVID-19 protocols for the health and safety of all involved.
And throughout the course of the next week, the Senior Bowl, courtesy of Director Jim Nagy, will be unveiling which players are partaking in the event for which team; either the Dolphins or the Carolina Panthers.
Thus far, the offensive backfield has been revealed — here are the quarterbacks and running backs that Miami will be coaching throughout the week for three days of practice and then the game itself at the end of the week.

The Dolphins are, at least presumably, in the market for only a backup quarterback, so they’re in luck. None of these three should be considered future starters, but perhaps one of them captures the trust, attention or eye of the Dolphins’ coaching staff enough to warrant a late round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Running backs
The @MiamiDolphins have a need at RB and they will get an invaluable weeklong exposure to these three potential NFL starters in Mobile.#TheDraftStartsInMobile pic.twitter.com/a0h6oHGDL3

While there is no need for a significant investment in the quarterback position for Miami, the running back position is a much different story. Miami has secured perhaps the best of all six backs committed to the game with North Carolina’s Michael Carter — one half of a dynamic duo with Javonte Williams at Chapel Hill that helped spark one of the most explosive offenses in all of football.
Carter is a do-it-all back who averaged 8.0 yards per carry on 156 totes of the ball and added an additional 25 receptions in 11 games for the Tar Heels this season. He’s the one of this group to watch the closest — but all three backs should be considered “on the table” for Miami given their need to continue bolstering the running game in 2021 and beyond.
